Following a summer engagement at Shreveport, Louisianna's The Strand Theatre, the work is expected to play Broadway in the 2008-2009 season, producers announced July 9 at a New York City press conference. Based on Milton's "Paradise Lost" poem, Angels is penned by Ken Lai (book, music and lyrics) and Marcus Cheong (book and lyrics). Rich Fowler will direct.
Angels "tells the extraordinary story of the ancient war between the Angels and Lucifer's fallen minions. This timeless tale of good versus evil, hope versus despair — angels vs. demons — is told through the eyes of Sera, the Angel of Light (Grové)," according to press notes.
