The show is co-written with Bridget Everett, the downtown singer-songwriter; and Kenny Mellman, Herb of the duo Kiki and Herb. It has music and lyrics by Mellman and Everett. According to a release, the "trashy little show" is "about New York City life through the eyes of a girl from Manhattan, Kansas, who's never afraid to tell it like it is."
