Jones’ play, which has previously been seen at South Coast Rep, Yale Rep and Washington's Studio Theatre, makes its New York premiere under the direction of Jackson Gay. Jenny Chow tracks the creation of the robot of the title by agoraphobic genius Jennifer Marcus, a teen with dreams of sending her android to the places she cannot go. At left, Jones and Gay share their joy after the performance.
