On June 27 Yankee Stadium hosted the "Bombers Boomer Broadway Softball Classic" with proceeds benefiting the Boomer Esiason Foundation Fighting Cystic Fibrosis as well as The Actors Fund.
Tveit performed the national anthem before taking the field with his fellow Broadway stars. "Bombers Boomer Broadway Softball Classic" included two seven-inning games with current Broadway stars facing off in the first game and WFAN All-Stars and TV personalities playing New York Yankees alumni in the second game.
The scheduled roster of players for the day's games included Tom Wopat, former Yankees players David Wells, Jeff Nelson, Cecil Fielder, Charlie Hayes, Mike Stanley, Jesse Barfield and Joe Pepitone, Cake Boss "Buddy" Valastro, TV star Steve Schirripa as well as more Broadway and television personalities.
