Michael Therriault and Michael Boatman star as Irving Berlin and Scott Joplin, respectively, in Mark Saltzman's musical play The Tin Pan Alley Rag, now playing Roundabout's Laura Pels Theatre.
Stafford Arima (Altar Boyz) directs the production featuring songs of Berlin and Joplin. Boatman and Therriault lead a cast that also includes Randy Aaron, Derrick Cobey, Jenny Fellner, Rosena M. Hill, James Judy, Mark Ledbetter, Michael McCormick, Erick Pinnick, Tia Speros and Idara Victor.
The Tin Pan Alley Rag "tells the story of an imagined meeting of two of America's greatest musicians, composer Scott Joplin (Boatman) and songwriter Irving Berlin (Therriault)," according to show notes.
The prolific producer, along with frequent collaborator Neil Meron, was behind such musical-driven projects as Smash, NBC’s live musicals, and the Broadway revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
