News PHOTO CALL: Bette Midler’s Star-Studded "Hulaween" Benefit Bette Midler’s New York Restoration Project celebrated its 15th anniversary at the annual Hulaween Benefit Gala, which was held at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City on Oct. 29.

U.S. Senator John Kerry was the honored guest at the gala, which featured Judy Gold as the MC. Paul Simon performed and Michael Kors judged the costume contest. Among the guests were John McEnroe, Patty Smyth, Marlo Thomas, Phil Donahue and Gilles Marini.

The New York Restoration Project was founded by Bette Middler in 1995, and is devoted to restoring, revitalizing and developing underserved parks, community gardens and other open spaces in New York City.
