News PHOTO CALL: Black Angels Over Tuskegee Opens Off-Broadway Layon Gray's Black Angels Over Tuskegee opened Off-Broadway Feb. 15 at St. Luke's Theatre.

Gray directs his own work which features a cast of Lamman Rucker (Tyler Perry’s "Why Did I Get Married?" and "Meet the Browns"), Demetrius Gross, Thom Scott II, Antonio Charity, Layon Gray, David Wendell Boykins, Derek Shaun, Jay Jones and Rich Skidmore. Black Angels Over Tuskegee is based on true events, and according to press notes it tells the story of how "six men explore their collective struggle with Jim Crow, their intelligence, patriotism, dreams of an inclusive fair society, and brotherhood as they become the first African American fighter pilots in the U.S. Army Air Forces."
