In a star-studded ceremony attended by many theatre personalities, as well as New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Broadway’s Plymouth and Royale theatres were officially renamed the Gerald Schoenfeld and Bernard B. Jacobs Theatres, respectively. At left, The Boy From Oz Tony Award winner Hugh Jackman speaks during the ceremony. Below, Schoenfeld, Mayor Bloomberg and Bernard Jacobs’ widow Betty look on as the new marquee (seen at left along with the Schoenfeld) for the Jacobs Theatre is unveiled on West 45th Street in the heart of Manhattan’s historic theatre district.
