Based on Stephen King's bestselling novel, the musical of Carrie opened on Broadway 1988. The show's original writers have created an entirely new reworked and fully re-imagined vision of this gripping tale. This new updated version premiered at MCC theatre in Manhattan in 2012. Broadway Workshop’s production was the first New York City remounting of Carrie since that Off-Broadway run.

Broadway Workshop Stages New York Return of Carrie: The Musical
The production was made up of over 50 teenaged actors who were divided into two casts. Cast members come from throughout New York City and the tri-state area and have a wealth of Broadway, regional theatre, film and television experience. Broadway’s Rachel Resheff (Mary Poppins, Shrek, Billy Elliot, People in the Picture) and Brenna Donahue shared the role of Carrie. The production was directed by Marc Tumminelli, choreogorahed by Casey Lee Thompson and Musical directed by Chip Colvin.
The Max Martin musical features a number of his most beloved songs, including “…Baby One More Time,” “Roar,” “Since U Been Gone,” “It’s My Life,” “I Want It That Way,” “Can’t Stop the Feeling!,” and more.
