News PHOTO CALL: Cactus Flower, With Maxwell Caulfield and Lois Robbins, Opens Off-Broadway The New York revival of Abe Burrows' classic farce Cactus Flower is now in full bloom: The production officially opened March 10 at the Westside Theatre Upstairs following previews that began Feb. 24.

The cast is led by Maxwell Caulfield (Chicago, An Inspector Calls, "Grease 2"), Lois Robbins ("Ryan's Hope") and Jenni Barber (From Up Here, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee) with Anthony Reimer ("Rescue Me"), John Herrera (The Times, They are a Changin'), Robin Skye (Parade), Jeremy Bobb (Is He Dead?) and Emily Walton (August: Osage County). Michael Bush directs.

Cactus Flower, With Maxwell Caulfield and Lois Robbins, Opens Off-Broadway


Cactus Flower, according to press notes, tells the story of "Julian Winston (Caulfield), a handsome, middle-aged Park Avenue dentist and bachelor, who, to dodge commitment, tells his much younger girlfriend Toni (Barber) that he is married. When Toni demands to meet his wife he recruits his prickly nurse (Robbins) to play the part and love blossoms in the most unexpected places!"
