Carla Gugino, Peter Grosz and Cast celebrate A Kid Like Jake Off-Broadway Opening Night

Evan Cabnet (The Performers) stages the production for Lincoln Center Theater's developmental initiative LCT3. The production is scheduled to run through July 14.

Gugino (Desire Under the Elms, The Road to Mecca, "New Girl") and Grosz ("Stranger Than Fiction," "The Weatherman") play parents Alex and Greg, whose son's personality and interests begin to cause concern when they attempt to enroll him in a New York City private school.

The cast also features Caroline Aaron (The Sisters Rosensweig, The Iceman Cometh) and Michelle Beck (Much Ado About Nothing, The Tempest).

According to LCT3, A Kid Like Jake is "the story of a husband and wife trying to do right by their son. Alex (Gugino) and her husband, Greg (Grosz), want only the best for their precocious four year old, Jake. When they apply to New York City private schools, part of what makes Jake special – his passion for Cinderella and dress-up – starts to cause concern."

Pearle's plays also include Bel Canto and Tearin' Up My Heart.

A Kid Like Jake has set design by Andromache Chalfant, costume design by Jessica Wegener Shay, lighting design by Japhy Weideman and sound design by Jill BC DuBoff.
