News PHOTO CALL: Catherine Zeta-Jones, Michael Cerveris, Angela Lansbury Honor Michael Douglas Veteran actor Michael Douglas was honored by the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center April 16 with the 2012 Monte Cristo Award. The ceremony was held at the Edison Ballroom in New York City.

The Academy Award-winning actor is known for his work in "Wall Street," "One Few Over the Cuckoo's Nest," "The China Syndrome," "Romancing the Stone," "Fatal Attraction, "Basic Instinct," "Falling Down," "Disclosure" and "The American President."

Douglas' wife, Tony and Academy Award-winning A Little Night Music and "Chicago" star Catherine Zeta-Jones, presented the honor.

Douglas is being recognized for "his monumental achievements and contributions to the American and international theatre community." He is an alumnus of the O'Neill Center.

Previous Monte Cristo recipients include James Earl Jones, Harold Prince, Kevin Spacey, Neil Simon, Jason Robards, Jr., Edward Albee, August Wilson, Zoe Caldwell, Brian Dennehy, Karl Malden, Arthur & Barbara Gelb and Wendy Wasserstein.
