Among the musical theatre celebs at the Oct. 20 opening night party for Amour, held at Tavern on the Green, were 2000 and 2001 Tony Award nominee Kevin Chamberlin and 2002 Tony Award winner Sutton Foster. With Foster is Amour's Christian Borle, who is the standby for the lead role of DuSoleil.

Based on a French short story by Marcel Ayme, Michel Legrand's Amour is set in post World War II Paris and concerns the life of Dusoleil (Gets), a civil servant who discovers he has the ability to walk through walls. With this strange new power, he discovers the secret lives of his neighbors along with a romance of his own (with Melissa Errico). The French version, Le Passe Muraille, won the Prix Moliere for Best Musical in 1997, the equivalent of the Tony Award. Amour opened at the Music Box Theatre Oct. 20.
