David Richenthal, who produced the Pulitzer-winning dramas The Kentucky Cycle, The Young Man from Atlanta and I Am My Own Wife, served as the event chair for the 6:30 PM evening.
In the past, the annual event has honored an individual or group who has made major contributions to the American theatre. This gala named an honorary committee of Pulitzer winners whose work was celebrated.
They included Edward Albee, David Auburn, Michael Cristofer, Nilo Cruz, Charles Fuller, Frank Gilroy, Sheldon Harnick, Beth Henley, Tom Kitt, James Lapine, Tracy Letts, David Lindsay-Abaire, Donald Margulies, Marsha Norman, Bruce Norris, Lynn Nottage, Robert Schenkkan, Stephen Sondheim, Alfred Uhry, Paula Vogel, Doug Wright and Brian Yorkey.

The gala offered performances from several Pulitzer-winning works, including Harnick's Fiorello! Harnick performed alongside Gregg Edelman and Billy Porter. Michael Lavine served as musical director.
Gala proceeds benefit Primary Stages Einhorn School of Performing Arts, Dorothy Strelsin New American Writers Group, PrimeTime Reading Series, commissions and workshops, and other educational initiatives.
The Max Martin musical features a number of his most beloved songs, including “…Baby One More Time,” “Roar,” “Since U Been Gone,” “It’s My Life,” “I Want It That Way,” “Can’t Stop the Feeling!,” and more.
