News   PHOTO CALL: Cherry Lane Celebrates 80 Years of Off-Broadway Excellence Cherry Lane Theatre – at 80 years old New York’s longest, continuously-running Off-Broadway theatre – welcomed a bevy of beloved playwrights to its 2005 Spring Gala on April 3.

At the event Cherry Lane honored Deborah Dugan (president of Disney Publishing Worldwide), Paul Libin (producing director of Jujamcyn Theaters), and playwrights A.R. Gurney (Love Letters, The Dining Room), Pulitzer–winner Marsha Norman (‘Night Mother, The Secret Garden) and Academy Award nominee Michael Weller (“Spoils of War”, “Hair”). At left, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? author Edward Albee reads selections from his work as part of the ceremony. Below, Gurney, Norman, Weller and David Henry Hwang are seen after the event.
