News PHOTO CALL: Christopher Sieber and Harvey Fierstein in La Cage aux Folles Christopher Sieber stepped into the role of Georges in the Tony Award-winning revival of La Cage aux Folles at the Longacre Theatre March 11. He joined Harvey Fierstein, who assumed the role of Albin on Feb. 15.

Sieber succeeds six-time Emmy Award nominee Jeffrey Tambor ("Arrested Development," "The Larry Sanders Show"), who withdrew from the production Feb. 24 following 12 performances.

Christopher Sieber and Harvey Fierstein in La Cage aux Folles



La Cage aux Folles, about a gay couple who run a St. Tropez drag club, features music and lyrics by Jerry Herman and book by Fierstein, based on the play by Jean Poiret. This production is choreographed by Lynne Page and directed by Terry Johnson, who won a 2010 Tony Award for his direction. It won the 2010 Best Revival (Musical) Tony.
