News PHOTO CALL: Elaine Stritch Celebrates 85th Birthday Broadway veteran Elaine Stritch celebrated her 85th birthday on Feb. 2 after her performance at the Cafe Carlyle.

The veteran singing actress has been performing in an all-Stephen Sondheim show at the Cafe Carlyle since Jan. 5. The show was due to close on Jan. 30 but was extended by one day in order to include her 85th birthday celebration.

A number of Broadway luminaries showed up to join in the festivities including Patti LuPone, Stephen Sondheim, Harold Prince, Nathan Lane and more.
