Silk Stockings, based on Ernst Lubitsch's satiric romantic comedy, "uses the plot and characters of the film to launch a hot romance during the height of the cold war," according to York. The score includes "All of You," "Paris Loves Lovers" and "As On Through The Seasons We Sail," among other songs, plus an interpolated Porter song — "What Is This Thing Called Love?" Performances will play March 22-24 at York Theatre at St. Peter's at 54th Street and Lexington Avenues.
The production features Davis as Steve and Davie as Ninotchka, plus Erick Devine as Commissioner Markovitch, Erica Dorfler, David Garrison as Comrade Bibinski, Leah Hocking as a vivacious American performer Janice Dayton, Andrew Kluger, Mark Price, Kilty Reidy, Danny Rutigliano as Ivanov, Alet Taylor and Stephen Wallem as Branoff.
