News   PHOTO CALL: Fay Wray Is Waiting In The Wings With Bacall Jan. 5 Fay Wray (right), best known as the helpless woman carried to the top of the Empire State Building by King Kong, came to visit Lauren Bacall (left) at Waiting in the Wings Jan. 5. Noel Coward's comedy Waiting in the Wings concerns Lotta Bainbridge (Bacall), newest resident at "The Wings," a retirement home for actresses, and former fierce rival to Rosemary Harris' May Davenport. It is the American premiere for the play, which opened at Broadway's Walter Kerr Theatre Dec. 16, the centennial of Coward's birthday.
