News PHOTO CALL: Flashdance The Musical Plays London's West End Victoria Hamilton-Barritt and Matt Willis star as Alex and Nick, respectively, in London's Flashdance The Musical, based upon the 1983 film. The show began performances at the Shaftesbury Theatre Sept. 25.

The show, based on the 1983 Paramount Pictures film (screenplay by Tom Hedley and Joe Eszterhas, story by Tom Hedley), is written by Tom Hedley and Robert Cary. It features such songs as "Maniac," "Manhunt," "Gloria," "I Love Rock and Roll" and the Academy Award-winning title song from the film, "Flashdance – What a Feeling," as well as 14 new songs written specially for the musical by Robbie Roth (music) and Robert Cary and Roth (lyrics).
