Bjorn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson, ABBA's songwriting pair, pose with Louise Pitre, who belts their "The Winner Takes It All" and "Slipping Through My Fingers" eight times a week at Broadway's Winter Garden Theatre in the new musical comedy Mamma Mia!. Using the songs of Swedish supergroup ABBA as the musical comedies' score, Mamma Mia! features original Toronto stars, Louise Pitre as Donna and Tina Maddigan as her daughter Sophie. The latter sets in motion the plot by inviting her three possible dads (David Keeley as the architect Sam, Dean Nolen as the adventurous American journalist Harry and Ken Marks as the proper Englishman Bill) to her Greek island wedding. A hit in London, Toronto and Melbourne, Mamma Mia! plays on Broadway at the newly renovated Winter Garden Theatre, the former home of Cats.
