Robert Sean Leonard, star of The Invention of Love, posed with Julia Hansen, who bestowed her award on Love's director, Jack O'Brien, at the May 11 Drama League Awards. Hansen founded and presides over the Drama League’s Director’s Project. 2001's top Drama League Awards went to Proof and The Producers with Distinguished Revival going to One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Other awards went to Mary Louise Parker and Gary Sinise for performance, Susan Stroman for outstanding achievement in the musical theatre and the Steppenwolf Theatre Company of Chicago for outstanding contribution to the theatre.
