Having previously toured with "American Idol" and as an opening act for the Jonas Brothers, Britney Spears and Alicia Keys, this performance marked Sparks' debut as a solo New York headliner.
The singer performed primarily from her Battlefield album, belting out such tunes as "S.O.S,” "Watch You Go," "Don’t Let It Go To Your Head," "Emergency (911)," "No Parade" and "Tattoo."
Sparks is in the middle of a multi-city cross-country tour, which concludes in August just prior to her Aug. 19 move to the Heights. She is scheduled to perform the role of Nina in the Tony-winning musical through Nov. 14.
Sparks will join the ranks of other "Idol" finalists who have gone on to appear on Broadway: Constantine Maroulis, Diana Degarmo, Ace Young, Taylor Hicks, Fantasia Barrino, Tamyra Gray, LaKisha Jones, Clay Aiken and Josh Strickland.
