Lister-Jones, to play the novelist who organizes a writing group, Jeff Goldblum (as the caustic seminar leader) and Justin Long (as another novelist) play their first performance at the Golden Theatre on April 3. Original cast members Jerry O'Connell and Hettienne Park are extending their stays with the show.
Jeff Goldblum and the New Cast of Seminar Meet the Press
This quintet is set to play eight weeks, through May 27.
In Seminar, "four aspiring young novelists sign up for private writing classes with Leonard, an international literary figure. Under his recklessly brilliant and unorthodox instruction, some thrive and others flounder, alliances are made and broken, sex is used as a weapon and hearts are unmoored. The wordplay is not the only thing that turns vicious as innocence collides with experience in this provocative new comedy."
Pulitzer Prize finalist and Peabody Award winner Theresa Rebeck wrote the plays Mauritius, The Scene, The Understudy and Omnium Gatherum (among many others), was an "NYPD Blue" writer and created the NBC series "Smash."
Seminar is produced by Jeffrey Finn, Jill Furman, John N. Hart Jr., Patrick Milling Smith, Roy Furman, David Ian, David Mirvish, Amy Nauiokas and James Spry.
Tickets are $51.50-126.50, with Premium seating also available. Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.telecharge.com, calling (212) 239-6200 or going in person to The Golden Theatre box office (252 West 45th Street).
