Dance Magazine presented The Independent Collective's Event for "Tiny Dancer" on Sept. 19. Hosted by the film's stars, Katherine Crockett and Daphne Rubin-Vega (Rent), the event aimed to raise funds to complete the Collective's first feature film.
"Tiny Dancer," co-directed by Jayce Bartok and Tiffany Bartok, tells the story of a legendary principal dancer (Crockett) who, after having her baby, finds that she is unable to suppress her desire to dance, despite the warnings of her best friend (Rubin-Vega).
Attendees of the fundraiser included Mikhail Baryshnikov, Zak Orth, Kerry Butler and Khrystyne Haje.
Matt Bomer, Zachary Quinto, Andrew Rannells, Robin de Jesús, Brian Hutchison, Tuc Watkins, Charlie Carver, and Michael Benjamin Washington share secrets behind the play’s design, character perspectives, and the work’s importance in 2018.
