The Dinner Party's Henry Winkler hosted the May 11 Drama League Awards, attended by his co-star Veanne Cox. Also there was King Hedley star and 2001 Tony nominee Brian Stokes Mitchell with fellow Tony nominee Andre de Shields of The Full Monty.
2001's top Drama League Awards went to Proof and The Producers with Distinguished Revival going to One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest. Other awards went to Mary Louise Parker and Gary Sinise for performance, Jack O'Brien for directing, Susan Stroman for outstanding achievement in the musical theatre and the Steppenwolf Theatre Company of Chicago for outstanding contribution to the theatre.
