Broadway star Carolee Carmello took over the spitfire title role in Kiss Me, Kate, replacing Tony Award nominee Marin Mazzie. With her is her co-star, Burke Moses, who replaced Tony Award winner Brian Stokes Mitchell.
The Tony Award-winning Broadway revival of Kiss Me, Kate ended its acclaimed two-year run after 28 previews and 885 regular performances at the Martin Beck Theatre Dec. 30. Kate's current cast — Carmello, Janine LaManna, Moses, Kevin Neil McCready — ended the run that began with Marin Mazzie and Mitchell in 1999. Mazzie is currently starring in the London run of the show, with Brent Barrett as her leading man.
