The musical theatre creators of ASCAP, including composer Henry Kreiger (Dreamgirls, Side Show), composer Richard Adler (The Pajama Game, Damn Yankees) and lyricist Craig Carnelia (Sweet Smell of Success, Working) congratulated three-time Oscar nominee Marc Shaiman (center, in green shirt, black coat) on his first Broadway musical, Hairspray, Aug. 7 at Caffe Cielo. Among the theatratti also in attendance were Charles Strouse, Jeanine Tesori, Tom Jones, Carol Hall, Stephen Schwartz, Stephen Flaherty and Shaiman's writing partner, Scott Wittman.
