Rodolfo (Jesús Garcia) and Mimi (Lisa Hopkins) share a kiss on the snowy streets of Paris.

Oscar nominee Baz Lurhman's staging of the classic Puccini opera about doomed lovers loving and losing among the poor poets, artists and writers of Bohemian Paris begins previews at the Broadway Theatre Nov. 22 after a pre-Broadway run in San Francisco (through Nov 10). Lurhman's interpretation sets the Italian opera in 1957 and is sung in the original with slangy English surtitles. The opera is triple-cast with color-coded rotating members — the "Red" (Ekaterina Solovyeva as Mimi and David Miller as Rodolfo), the "White" (Wei Huang as Mimi and Alfred Boe as Rodolfo) and the "Blue" (Lisa Hopkins as Mimi and Jesus Garcia as Rodolfo).
