News PHOTO CALL: Lin-Manuel Miranda, Andrew Lippa, Rick Elice Take Part in "Success on Broadway: The Un-Broadway Way" Panel Playbill magazine editor Blake Ross hosted "Success on Broadway: The Un-Broadway Way," a panel discussion with Lin-Manuel Miranda, Andrew Lippa and Rick Elice, presented May 7 as part of the fourth annual Creative Week.

"Three of the most creative and innovative writers working on Broadway today discuss how very 'un-Broadway' their success has been," according to press notes. "In this session, we’ll delve into some of Broadway’s greatest success stories: How do you go from the creative director at a leading ad agency to a celebrated writer for the stage? How do you turn a high school project into a Tony Award-winning musical? How do you make a cartoon come to life on stage?"

The panelists included Lin-Manuel Miranda, Tony and Grammy Award-winning composer-lyricist and creator and star of In the Heights; Andrew Lippa, Tony and Grammy-nominated composer of The Addams Family, The Wild Party, You're a Good Man Charlie Brown and Aaron Sorkin's The Farnsworth Invention; and Rick Elice, Tony-nominated librettist of Jersey Boys and writer and co-lyricist of the nine-time Tony nominated new play, Peter and the Starcatcher.
