News PHOTO CALL: Linda Lavin and Jennifer Westfeldt Star in Nicky Silver's Too Much Sun at The Vineyard The Vineyard Theatre's world-premiere production of Nicky Silver's Too Much Sun, starring Tony Award winner Linda Lavin and Tony nominee Jennifer Westfeldt, officially opened May 18 following previews that began May 1.

Along with Lavin (The Lyons, Collected Stories) and Westfeldt (Wonderful Town, The Library), the play also features Ken Barnett (Wonderful Town, The Green Bird), Richard Bekins (Tartuffe, Love! Valour! Compassion!), Matt Dellapina (Outside People, Dream of the Burning Boy) and Matt Dickson (War Horse, The Coast of Utopia).

Directed by Mark Brokaw, the production continues through June 22.  "In Too Much Sun, Ms. Lavin portrays Audrey Langham, a celebrated actress who unravels completely while preparing for a new production of Medea," press notes state. "With nowhere else to go, she descends upon her married daughter for a summer by the sea. She is not, however, greeted with confetti and champagne. Her arrival sets off a chain of events alternately hilarious, harrowing and unforgettable." Here's a look at the Vineyard production:
