News PHOTO CALL: Lindsay Mendez, Nic Rouleau, The Skivvies, Kate Rockwell Sing Once Upon a Time in New York City Once Upon a Time in New York City, a benefit concert featuring new material from emerging songwriters celebrating the city of New York, was offered Oct. 14 at Joe's Pub.

For the 9:30 PM concert, which benefited The Actors Fund, musical theatre writers — ages 19-90, who were born everywhere from Kansas City to San Francisco to Montreal — wrote a song about someone who changed their idea of New York City.

Contributing composers included Danny Abosch, Gaby Alter, Jake Brandman, Nick Cearley, David Dabbon, Zina Goldrich, Adam Gwon, Paul Scott Goodman, Marcy Heisler, Caleb Hoyer, Joe Iconis, Michael R. Jackson, Galt MacDermot, Julia Mattison, Lauren Molina, Tim Murphy, Ryan Scott Oliver, Willem Oosthuysen, Bill Russell, Dick Scanlan and Zack Zadek.

Once Upon a Time featured performances from Alter (writer of Band Geeks, Nobody Loves You), Grace Capeless (A Christmas Story, The Musical), Caitlyn Caughell (Newsies), Cearley (The Skivvies), Katrina Rose Dideriksen (The Pregnancy Pact, Bloodsong of Love), Cait Doyle (Hot Mess In Manhattan), Alexandra Ferrara (Pirates!), Goodman (writer of Rooms, Bright Lights Big City), Gwon (writer of Ordinary Days, The Boy Detective Fails), Molly Hager (Fat Camp), Carly Hughes (Ghost, Ragtime), Iconis (writer of The Black Suits, Bloodsong of Love), Jay Armstrong Johnson (Hands on a Hardbody, Hair), Rachel Lee (The Joe Iconis Christmas Spectacular), Alyse Alan Louis (Mamma Mia!, Xanadu), Lauren Marcus (The Pregnancy Pact, ReWrite), Gaten Matarazzo (Priscilla Queen Of The Desert), Mattison (Godspell), Lindsay Mendez (Dogfight, Godspell), Molina (Marry Me A Little, Sweeney Todd), Kate Rockwell (Bring It On, Legally Blonde), Nic Rouleau (The Book Of Mormon, Legally Blonde), Jared Weiss (Things To Ruin), Zadek (writer of 6 - a new musical) and musicians Joe Brent, Eric Davis, Bonnie Milligan and Reynaldo Soriano, among others.

The concert is the idea of Hoyer and Jennifer Ashley Tepper, creators of If It Only Even Runs A Minute.
