PHOTO CALL: Long Wharf's Contemporary Doll's House

News   PHOTO CALL: Long Wharf's Contemporary Doll's House Gordon Edelstein's new adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House plays Connecticut's Long Wharf Theatre.

Ana Reeder (Top Girls, Sight Unseen) stars as Nora in a cast that also features Linda Powell (On Golden Pond) as Kristine, Mark Nelson (Bridge Project's Winter's Tale, Cherry Orchard) as Krogstad, Tim Hopper (Picasso at the Lapin Agile) as Rank, Maegan Pachomski as Helene and Adam Trese (Broadway's Twelve Angry Men, A View from the Bridge) as the controlling Torvald. "I adapted Ibsen’s play in much the same way I adapted Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya," Edelstein said in a statement. "I am doing Ibsen’s play as he wrote it, except that I am making the language speakable in today’s words. Most translations are Victorian and stuffy. I’ve cut out some of the repetitive beats and simplified some of the overwrought plot points."
