Matthew Kacergis (1776 at the Ford's Theatre) and Alyse Alan Louis (Mamma Mia!) play star-crossed lovers Melchior and Wendla, respectively. They are joined by Helen Hayes Award winner Parker Drown as Moritz Steifel, MaryLee Adams as Martha, Austin VanDyke Colby as Hanschen, Maggie Donnelly as Ilse, Gracie Jones as Thea, David Landstrom, Liz Mamana as The Adult Women, Christopher Mueller as Otto, Dayna Marie Quincy as Anna, Chris Rudy as Georg and Ethan Watermeier as The Adult Men with Samuel Edgerly, Ali Hoxie and Katie McCreary.

Spring Awakening, according to Olney Theatre, "celebrates the unforgettable journey from youth to adulthood with a power, poignancy and passion you will never forget. In the tradition of Hair and Rent, Spring Awakening is a musical that has captured the heart and soul of a new generation."

Based on the Frank Wedekind work of the same name, the musical features a Tony-winning score by Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater with a Tony-winning book by Sater.

Director Cosson said that "since the Broadway production created so many iconic images in design, staging and choreography, I felt there was an inherent challenge to not repeat the great work already accomplished on Broadway, but to discover the show afresh with the incredibly talented design team and cast at Olney Theatre Center."

Olney Theatre Center is located at 2001 Olney-Sandy Spring Road in Olney, MD. For more information and tickets, visit OlneyTheatre.org.
