Backstage (or in the New York Hilton's case, in the back rooms), Marin Mazzie and Laura Benanti got ready for their performances as a part of the Manhattan Theatre Club's May 15 Spring Gala. Mazzie sang "I Hate Men," while Benanti warbled Swing!'s "Cry Me a River." Manhattan Theatre Club, the New York City nonprofit that gives voice to new writers and unfamiliar plays, held its annual Spring Gala May 15, with David Hyde Pierce and Linda Lavin serving as co-hosts. The fundraiser evening at the New York Hilton included entertainment from Broadway performers from Kiss Me, Kate, Swing!, Aida and more, as well as selections from MTC's recent The Wild Party.
