Phyllida Lloyd directs the transfer from London's Donmar Warehouse that plays Broadway's Broadhurst Theatre.
The show centers on "the extraordinary relationship between England's Elizabeth I and her cousin, Mary Queen of Scots, Elizabeth's rival to the throne," according to show notes.
McTeer and Walter play Mary Queen of Scots and Elizabeth I, respectively, in a cast that also includes Michael Countryman, John Benjamin Hickey, Michael Rudko, Robert Stanton, Maria Tucci, Chandler Williams, Nicholas Woodeson and Brian Murray.
The Max Martin musical features a number of his most beloved songs, including “…Baby One More Time,” “Roar,” “Since U Been Gone,” “It’s My Life,” “I Want It That Way,” “Can’t Stop the Feeling!,” and more.
