The Paines Plough and Pentabus Theatre Company production of Every Brilliant Thing, which is making its North American premiere at Off-Broadway's Barrow Street Theatre, officially opened Dec. 14 following previews that began Dec. 6.

Olivier Award nominee Duncan Macmillan’s play, critically acclaimed in London and Edinburgh, is playing a 16-week engagement. George Perrin directs.

Featuring Jonny Donahoe, Every Brilliant Thing is described as such: "A young boy attempts to ease his mother's depression by creating a list of all the best things in the world. Everything worth living for. Through adulthood, as the list grows, he learns the deep significance it has on his own life. Every Brilliant Thing is a new play about depression and the lengths we will go for those we love."

Producers are Scott Morfee, Jean Doumanian, Tom Wirtshafter and Patrick Daly.

Show times are Tuesday-Friday at 7:30 PM and Saturday and Sunday at 2:30 PM and 7:30 PM.

Tickets, priced $20-$55, are on sale via smarttix.com, on the phone at (212) 868-4444, or in person at the Barrow Street Theatre box office, located at 27 Barrow Street at 7th Avenue South in the heart of Greenwich Village.
