News   PHOTO CALL: MTC’s Based on a Totally True Story Unfolds Off-Broadway Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa’s new play Based on a Totally True Story—starring New York stage favorite Kristine Nielson (Omnium Gatherum)—opened at Manhattan Theatre Club’s City Center Stage II on April 11.

In the play, young playwright/comic book writer Ethan Keene is forced to deal with the real drama in his life when, according to production notes, “a veteran Hollywood producer decides she wants to turn one of his plays into a horror movie.” At left, audience members Jane Alexander and Shirley Knight are seen after the show.
