On Feb. 15, 2005, songwriter Harold Arlen received an honor reserved for the truly iconic. New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg officially declared the date as "Harold Arlen Day" in the Big Apple.

Arlen is best known for contributing to "The Wizard of Oz", though his songs have appeared on Broadway in various productions for over 70 years. Below, son Sam Arlen is seen at the Lincoln Center office of The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers with the official proclamation declaring "Harold Arlen Day."
