News   PHOTO CALL: Nilo Cruz Displays the Beauty of the Father with New Play at MTC Nilo Cruz, the poetic playwright who nabbed the Pulitzer Prize for Drama with his lyrical Anna in the Tropics, saw his newest work Beauty of the Father receive it’s Off-Broadway debut at New York’s titular Manhattan Theatre Club on Jan. 10.

The play’s story follows, according to press materials, “a young women’s travels to Spain to visit her estranged father, [where she] quickly becomes immersed in his vibrant, artistic world.” At left, Jane Alexander and star Priscilla Lopez are seen after the performance above Our Lady of 121st Street playwright Stephen Adly-Gurgis and Anna in the Tropics actor David Zayas.
