Broadway Stars Take to the Diamond for Opening Day of Yearly Softball League When the weather finally turns towards spring in New York City, the crowds inevitably make their way to Central Park. Those who made it on May 5 got a glimpse of some very recognizable faces as the stars of several Broadway shows showed up to kick off the 2005 season of the Broadway Show League.

The yearly league is a favorite amongst the theatrical community not only for its fun-natured competitiveness, but for the good it does by raising funds for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. At left, All Shook Up’s Jenn Gambatese shares the infield with The Pillowman’s Jeff Goldblum while Paige Price gets into the spirit of things. Below, several stars currently on the boards including Tom Wopat, Goldblum, Sherie Rene Scott, Jeffrey Tambor, Gordon Clapp, Christopher Sieber and Gambatese celebrate the opening of the 51st Season of the Broadway Show League.
