News PHOTO CALL: Rattlestick Performs Acts of Mercy with Debut of New Garces Play Michael John Garces, the writer-director who has seen a steady stream of work in New York in recent years, saw his newest play Acts of Mercy: passion play celebrate its opening night at Off-Broadway’s Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre on Feb. 16.

Acts of Mercy takes place “during the course of one sweltering night,” according to production notes, as “two sons must reconcile themselves to their dying father, hoping to gain redemption through small but life-giving acts of mercy.” Below, director Gia Forakis and playwright Garces are seen with the entire cast at the play’s opening night party, held at Agave on Seventh Avenue South in New York City.
