Joel Grey and Bernadette Peters joined Phyllis Newman to salute the career and life of her husband, Adolph Green, in a memorial at the Shubert Theatre Dec. 3. Grey sang the Comden-Green-Andre Previn song, "I Like Myself" from the film, "It's Always Fair Weather," while Newman and Peters sang a duet of "Some Other Time."

Green, the legendary Broadway lyricist-librettist and screenwriter who, with partner Betty Comden, created On the Town, Bells Are Ringing, On the 20th Century and "Singin' in the Rain," died Oct. 24. The theatre community gathered together Dec. 3 at the Shubert Theatre to remember him with songs from his career and anecdotes from his very full life.
