News   PHOTO CALL: Rested Slater Ready to Fly Over the Cuckoo's Nest In London

The old comparisons between Christian Slater and Jack Nicholson take on a new light as Slater tackles the role onstage, that Nicholson conquered off, Randle P. McMurphy in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

The stage version of the cult novel by Merry Prankster Ken Kesey, adapted by Dale Wasserman, gets a shot of new life in the West End with star Slater. The production is transfering from a run at the just finished Edinburgh Fringe Festival - a run shortened by Slater's bout with chicken pox. Slater is the latest in a line of stars to take a stab at the lead role, from Kirk Douglas in the original 1963 Broadway production, to Gary Sinise in a 2001 Broadway revival.

The production is directed by Terry Johnson.
