News PHOTO CALL: Richard Gere, Bernadette Peters, Kristin Chenoweth, Julie Andrews, LaChanze and More Honor Rob Marshall Golden Globe Award winner Richard Gere, star of the Rob Marshall film "Chicago," and two-time Tony Award winner Bernadette Peters were among the extensive list of performers honoring director and choreographer Marshall at Roundabout Theatre Company's annual 2012 Spring Gala on March 12.

The benefit celebrated Academy Award, Tony, Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Marshall, who has roots in RTC productions. His sister, Tony winner Kathleen Marshall (Anything Goes), directed and choreographed a musical tribute hosted by Martin Short, with performances by Peters, Gere, Christine Baranski, Boyd Gaines, Victor Garber, Donna Murphy and Kelli O'Hara.

The March 12 Spring Gala at the Hammerstein Ballroom was called From Screen to Stage. Rob Marshall came to national prominence working on the musicals She Loves Me, Company, Little Me and the Tony Award-winning Cabaret. He moved on to TV and motion pictures, directing and choreographing the Oscar-winning film musical "Chicago," and directing "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides," "Nine," "Memoirs of a Geisha" and the TV movie "Annie."

Roundabout presented the Jason Robards Award for Theatrical Excellence to Marshall at the Spring Gala. Musical direction and arrangements for the evening were by David Krane.

Celebrities and artists expected to attend included Jane Alexander, Alec Baldwin, Matthew Broderick, Blair Brown, Matt Cavenaugh, Margaret Colin, Kristin Chenoweth, Jim Dale, Gordon Edelstein, Nora Ephron, Katie Finneran, Santino Fontana, Alexander Gemignani, Paul Gemignani. Joanna Gleason, Sam Gold, Carla Gugino, Joel Grey, Jessica Hecht, Jayne Houdyshell, Doug Hughes, Marin Ireland, Cherry Jones, John Kander, Carol Kane, Steve Kazee, Jane Krakowski, LaChanze, James Lapine, William Ivey Long, Joe Masteroff, Michael McGrath, John McMartin, Debra Monk, Martha Plimpton, David Rabe, Lily Rabe, Phylicia Rashad, Theresa Rebeck, Sherie Rene Scott, John Slattery, Alex Timbers, Tony Walton and Maury Yeston. *
