The event was held at the Plaza Hotel on Fifth Avenue and Central Park South in New York City. Ballet Hispanico is considered the leading dance representative for contemporary Hispanic culture in the United States. At left are artistic director Tina Ramirez and honoree Chita Rivera, seen above Ballet Hispanico dancers Sunilda Caraballo and Sara Kappraff, and Broadway dancer Nancy Ticotin. Below, Graciela Daniele, the evening's other honored guest, celebrates with Manhattan Theatre Club artistic director Lynne Meadow, and Ramirez.
