News PHOTO CALL: Rod Gilfry and Caroline O'Connor Star in Paris Sweeney Todd The Théâtre du Châtelet production of Sweeney Todd, starring Rod Gilfry and Caroline O'Connor, began performances April 22 in Paris.

Lee Blakeley, who staged A Little Night Music at Théâtre du Châtelet last season, directs the English-language production that features both Gilfry and Pomponi in the titular role.

The Stephen Sondheim-Hugh Wheeler musical is scheduled to play a four-week engagement through May 21.

Also featured are Jonathan Best as Judge Turpin, John Graham-Hall as Beatle Bamford, David Curry as Pirelli, Nicholas Garrett as Anthony, Rebecca Bottone as Joanna, Pascal Chardonneau as Tobias and Rebecca de Pont Davis as the Beggarwoman.

The Tony-winning musical Sweeney Todd centers on a vengeful London barber whose customers are never seen again. His accomplice, Mrs. Lovett, assists Todd in disposing of the evidence with the use of her creative culinary skills.
