LaChiusa’s newest work, which was previously seen under the title R Shomon at the Williamstown Theatre Festival, adapts the stories of writer Ryunosuke Akutagawa into a two-act musical that tells both “the tales of a mysterious murder in Central Park and of the rebirth of a devastated city”, according to press materials.
