Charles Busch takes his bow in Shanghai Moon.

Shanghai Moon is a camp take on "oriental" melodramas of the 1930's like "Shanghai Express." Beautiful Lady Sylvia Allington (Busch) is seduced by the mysterious of the East — and the notorious warlord General Gong Fe (M. Butterfly's B.D. Wong). Unforunately, her loveless marriage to a British artistocrat (Daniel Gerroll) won't be the only victim of her passion. Also in the cast are Becky Ann Baker, Sekiya Billman and Marcy McGuigan. Shanghai Moon is directed by Carl Andress.

Even before its opening night, Shanghai Moon announced a four week extension and will now play at the Drama Dept.'s Greenwich House Theatre through March 9.

Busch recently had a big hit on Broadway with The Tale of the Allergist's Wife, which he did not star in, but merely penned. His other works include Vampire Lesbians of Sodom, Red Scare on Sunset, The Lady in Question and Psycho Beach Party.
