PHOTO CALL: Slava's Clowns Bid Adieu to "The Gates" of Central Park

News   PHOTO CALL: Slava's Clowns Bid Adieu to "The Gates" of Central Park As if the site of over 7,000 bright saffron gates wasn't an odd enough site in New York City's Central Park the past two weeks, several clowns from the Off-Broadway hit Slava's Snowshow could be seen rambling through them on the environmental art's last day Feb. 27.

"The Gates", the latest site-specific and limited-time only work of art by Christo and Jean-Claude, had everyone in the Big Apple talking for the two weeks that it added a touch of color to the wintery brown of the city's man-made haven for nature lovers.

Slava's Snowshow is an energetic modern circus and clown act featuring Russian clown Slava Polunin. The production is enjoying a sold-out run at the Union Square Theatre.
